Ashdel x Slow North
Ashdel and Slow North teamed up with a shared mission to reduce waste. Slow North is committed to keeping their textile remnants out of landfills and donates them to the local Textile Recycling Center where they can be recycled and given another life. In collaboration together, a mini collection of handmade earrings featuring hand-sewn fabric beads was created using fabric off-cuts from Slow North's therapy pack patterns. To shop the collection, visit Slow North's retail shop in Austin or shop online at slownorth.com.
Inspired by yo-yo quilts from the 20s-40s, fabric circles were sewn by hand into rosettes and stitched together to create fabric 'yo-yo' beads.
Fabric circles are cut by hand, to target different areas of the print and allow for variation in the earring designs.
Textile print design by Loes Van Oosten. Fabric patterns are screen printed in Japan on high quality, medium weight cotton and medium weight, soft canvas.
Earrings are made with hypoallergenic, nickel-free titanium posts for sensitive ears.
